We are a fully licensed restaurant and can serve alcohol throughout our service. Therefore, the time to which we serve alcohol is determined by when the restaurant closes, which is usually between 11.30pm and 12.30am.
Spice Temple is a modern Chinese restaurant with a culinary focus on China's lesser known regions. Our menus are designed to be shared and enjoyed banquet style in our intimate and seductive surrounds. Driven by our philosophy of incorporating world-class service with a deep respect for the highest quality produce Spice Temple offers modern Chinese food as it's rarely been seen before in Australia.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of our feature low hanging lights, standing cocktail functions are not an option at Spice Temple Melbourne. Please speak with our Events team to assist you in finding a more suitable venue to host your event.

Events at Spice Temple Melbourne are offered a choice of either our $79, $99 and $124 per person banquets which have been designed exclusively by Neil Perry with the traditional Southern Chinese shared style of dining in mind. These menu selections have been designed to accommodate larger groups, while still guaranteeing the Rockpool Dining Group's quality. We do have the ability to be quite flexible with our set menus, so please do not hesitate to contact a member of our events team to discuss the possibility of altering or expanding your menu. Please note as we only work with the freshest and most seasonal of produce all menus are subject to frequent change, particularly the garnish and proteins.

You are able to bring in your own cake. Please note, should you wish to provide your own cake, a cakeage fee will apply.
We do not enforce a strict dress code; however, as premium two-hatted restaurant we would suggest a smart/casual attire for all guests.
Please note that due to the semi-private nature of our rooms at Spice Temple Melbourne we cannot facilitate audio. We encourage all guests with audio visual requirements to come for a site visit prior to confirming their reservation. Should this be appropriate we can provide a screen from our off site AV company, a quote can be provided upon request.
A room hire fee is subject to the venue and is event specific. A room hire fee and/or minimum spends will be provided upon quoting.

A Service Charge is applicable on all groups of 10 guests or above.
Spice Temple Melbourne is located on Southbank at The Crown Casino Complex. The closest train station is Flinders Street, approximately a 10 minute walk from the establishment. Alternatively you can reach us with the number 58 tram or bus numbers 216, 219, 220, 234, 236, 605 stopping at Casino East/Queensbridge. If you are arriving in an Uber or Taxi please ask to be dropped off at the Crown Towers end of the Crown Complex.
We are able to hold group bookings and private dining spaces for a maximum of 24 hours as it is a live booking system. For larger events please speak to one of our Event Managers - this is dependent on other incoming enquiries and the timeframe of the event.
A minimum spend is the amount that must be met on food and beverage purchases. It includes staffing costs. If, at the conclusion of your Event the minimum spend has not been met, the final bill will be rounded up to reach this amount accordingly. The deficit is payable on the day of and immediately after the conclusion of the Event, by cash or credit card. Additional costs such as Service Charge, theming, security, AV etc is not included in the minimum spend.
Yes, a 15% public holiday surcharge applies across all Rockpool Dining Group venues.
