The Argyle is one of Sydney's largest and most iconic event destinations with the ability to host events from 25 to 1500 guests. The heritage listed venue is situated in the heart of The Rocks and boasts stunning architectural features of sandstone and wooden pillars. The Argyle encompasses six unique bars held over two levels; all blended under one roof. The grand archway takes you to the heartbeat of the precinct -  a beautiful cobblestoned open-air courtyard, which features festoon lighting, large format screen and outdoor bar. The Argyle caters to a variety of event areas to suit any mood and function. A destination venue ideal to hold a variety of functions, from a birthday party in a private space, product launches, after parties, networking events to gala dinners and Christmas parties. Our food offering comes from Rockpool Dining Group's world-class restaurants located in the precinct, including Sake Restaurant & Bar, The Cut Bar & Grill, El Camino Cantina and the Argyle. A short walk from Circular Quay and a hub of transport, The Argyle is the ultimate event destination.

The Argyle is open 7 days a week.
Sun-Thurs: 11:00am - LATE
Fri-Sat: 11am-3am
Our kitchen is open all day, our full menu is available until 11pm and a limited menu is then available from 11pm-3am.
Kindly note, our closing time is subject to the manager's discretion on weekdays.
As per NSW Lockout Laws entry is strictly prohibited after 1.30am.
Like all venues in the Argyle Precinct, we are licensed until 3am.
At The Argyle Kitchen, a casual bite to eat can be enjoyed throughout the venue from lunch 'til late. Our kitchen serves up a diverse range of pub classics, pizzas, share plates, burgers & salads. And for those looking for a satisfying late-night feed, The Argyle kitchen serves up a variety of mouth-watering late night temptations.
Yes, the Argyle offers a vast space spanning across 2 floors situated in one of Australia's oldest buildings with a maximum capacity of 1500 guests cocktail style.
Yes, across our 2 floors the Argyle has 8 private events spaces available for hire, as well as our impressive courtyard, featuring original cobblestones and an outside bar. Each space is uniquely designed offering a variation in capacities, style and atmosphere.

Yes, our menu can accommodate a wide range of dietary requirements such as vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. Please note we do not offer gluten free pizza bases. Please specify dietary requirements when enquiring.
We are a fully licensed venue, therefore we do not allow BYO.
For events at the Argyle there are a couple food options available. We offer a delightful canape and platter menu featuring dishes from each of our venues in the precinct Alternatively, for events over 200 guests we can offer scattered food stations around the venue. Please speak with your Event Manager for assistance as to what option best suits your event.
Yes, at The Argyle both beverages on consumption and beverage packages are available. We recommend pre-selecting a range of beverages from our fun beverage list featuring an array of cocktail classics. Our standard recommendation is:

Yes,The Argyle offers a generous, heritage venue which can host both a wedding ceremony and/or reception.
Yes, you may. Additonally, the Rockpool Dining Group Events Team can provide you with contacts to assist you with visually styling your event. Kindly note all decorations excluding floral arrangements are restricted to exclusive events only. As we are located in a heritage builiding, the Argyle Precinct has specific restrictions such as no naked flames, glitter, confetti or any decorations of offence.
Yes, the Argyle is a child-friendly in the day.
Please note all minors must be accompanied by their legal parent or guardian at all times. Minors must vacate the venue by 8pm Sunday-Thursday and 6pm Friday-Saturday.
Yes, the Argyle does have disabled access and facilities on site.
You are able to bring in your own cake. Please note, should you wish to provide your own cake, a cakeage fee will apply.
Our dress regulations are Smart Casual. However, on Friday and Saturday nights, we are slightly stricter - absolutely no sneakers/sports brands or caps.
We are able to hold group bookings and private dining spaces for a maximum of 24 hours as it is a live booking system. For larger events please speak to one of our Event Managers - this is dependent on other incoming enquiries and the timeframe of the event.
Yes, the Argyle has multiple TV screens scattered around our venue:

We have several microphones which can be used throughout the venue. We can also provide standalone systems for smaller functions (portable speaker and microphone).
The venue is split into several zones which all have lights which can be altered as well as touch panels on the walls which all have 12 presets.
The existing zones are:
Courtyard, Main Bar, Riebey Room and Gallery Bar.
For private lockouts we can customise lights outside of the presets which require an operator at $40 per hour fee.

Wednesday - 6-8pm acoustic band, 8pm-1am Salsa
Thursday - 6-9pm DJ, 9-11pm Band, 11-1am Dj (Throwback Party)
Friday DJs 6pm-3am
Saturday - Acoustic Band 3-6pm in the Courtyard // DJs 6pm-3am
Sunday DJs 6pm-1am
A room hire fee is subject to the venue and is event specific. A room hire fee and/or minimum spends will be provided upon quoting.
A minimum spend is the amount that must be met on food and beverage purchases. It includes staffing costs. If, at the conclusion of your Event the minimum spend has not been met, the final bill will be rounded up to reach this amount accordingly. The deficit is payable on the day of and immediately after the conclusion of the Event, by cash or credit card. Additional costs such as Service Charge, theming, security, AV etc is not included in the minimum spend.
A Service Charge is applicable on all groups of 10 guests or above.
Metered street parking is available. However, given the central location of The Argyle there is no on-site parking available.

The Argyle's central location enables easy access by public transport. Conveniently located just 7 minutes walk from Circular Quay, trains, ferries and buses are readily available.
Yes, a 15% public holiday surcharge applies across all Rockpool Dining Group venues.
Yes, The Argyle accepts all credit cards: AMEX, Visa, Mastercard and Diners.
On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays we open up a dedicated smoking area in our Courtyard from 8pm. On Fridays and Saturdays we open up this smoking area at 9pm. Prior to these times guests must vacate the premises and smoke outside the Argyle Precinct due to licensing restrictions.
